PREFLOP GUIDE FOR RAISING FIRST IN 2 Preflop Introduction Preflop is the most common and important street in poker. The decisions you make on this street will greatly impact the rest of the hand. The hands are organized by position or the order in which you act at the table. Play starts out with the Under The Gun (UTG) player. You make the most decisions preflop of any street. Learn how to play fundamentally sound poker preflop by signing up to get my preflop charts. I show you almost every scenario you will face. Learning how to play solid preflop is the first step towards becoming a winning player. The first skill in Ed Miller’s The Course — and really, the first skill any poker player needs to master — is having a good pre-flop range. Many poker books for beginners advocate a set range from each position, and their suggestions are usually quite conservative to keep new players out of trouble.

These preflop ranges have been specifically designed for 100BB deep games with medium rake.

Each preflop matrix will have a raise size associated with it which must be used for the range to be balanced.

In Holdem, when you have a very short stack of 10bb or less, your preflop strategy is basically limited to shoving or calling a shove. An optimal strategy will depend on your opponent’s flaws, as exploiting their flaws will be the most profitable approach.
However, it is essential to comprehend what a balanced preflop gto strategy is so that you can spot their leaks and avoid making errors yourself. The Texas Holdem poker hands charts that we will present below will help you master preflop gto strategy when playing with a short stack.
